Want to be an Officer?

We need 3-5 officers to assist the guild masters in leading the guild. The will be required to attend guild meetings however they do not necessarily have to attend raids. Once 3-5 have been suggested or have applied, we will vote.

Officers are expected to make sacrifices. This means giving up raid positions to those who need gear more badly, farming for guild bank, resolving issues that take time, and keeping up on this blog.

However, officers are also granted some benefits. These include the ability to promote, demote, invite, and end discussion. They are the moderators that others must listen to or face consequences fast. The often get raid invite priority as well.

If you think you are capable of leading us into WoTLK, post an app below. The following should be contained in your app:

Char name:
RL name:
Raiding EXP:

I think I would be a good addition to the leadership of Standard because...

I plan to sacrifice...

I want to be a leader because...

Please keep posts on this topic strictly to applications. This will help keep it organized. A poll will be up when everyone has applied. You have until Nov 6 to apply.

Who is what profession?

Please post your profession below ONLY if you are skill 375 or max skill. This includes all gathering/crafting professions. (We can avoid a lot of "can anyone do this chant in guild" if we can refer people to website to ask for such things).

If the item is not avaliable in guild bank it is up to the crafter/gatherer what to charge. As a general courtesy for guildies, it is expected guildies not be charged a "tip." However, often times providing mats for the crafter to use or providing a trade for the gatherer is expected.

During the meeting we discussed the posibility of having guild premade BG raids on Sundays and Mondays for those who want to attend. This will give us a great way to make pvpers happy while waiting for raid lockout timers to reset.

We're also going to make in-guild arena teams for those who are looking for teams. While these are in no way required, it's a great way to get geared and to help others get geared.

Post your thoughts.

How to Get a Raid Invite

There's a few things you need to take care of before you can receive an invite to a raid.

First: Make sure you have the minimum stat requirements for your class and role. These can be found out by talking to your class leader. Without the minimum you will not receive an invite.

Second: Have consumables. Always. It's always a good idea to bring consumables that will increase the raid's chance of success. For those who raid frequentely these can be found in the guild bank. Otherwise these can be collected, found in the AH, or crafted.

Third: Ensure you have the necessary addons. We like to experience encounters as they were meant. However, sometimes certain addons are necessary to be successful. Omen threat meters, Deadly Boss mods, and Big Wigs are all required. There are several other encounter specific addons that are useful but not required.

Fourth: Sign up for the raid you would like to attend before the due date.

Fifth: Be online and on time when raid invites go out. Make sure your gear is repaired and you know the fights.

There are a few ways to increase the chances you'll be able to sign up for a raid or attend one.

First: Establish yourself on the blog. Being known increases your chances of being liked...making it more likely you'll be invited.

Second: When you go to a raid perform your best and don't QQ.

The Guild Bank - Withdraws and Deposits

There's a lot of different opinions on this. We have to remember that the guild bank is a place for mats and created goods to be kept together and distributed throughout the guild as a means of helping our progression.

We have two routes we can go with this:

Incentive based:
You submit X amount of item and receive Y amount of Loot Currency

Help based:
You submit X amount of item for the sole purpose of helping our progression.

If there is something that you feel should be added to this or you have an idea please comment.

We need a new guild tabard. Does anyone have any basic suggestions before I get started with the tabard creator? Then I can post a few and we can vote on them.
